Policies

Pricing and turnaround time

Pricing and turnaround time will be specified in our original estimate. If we cannot meet any of our terms for reasons we could not have anticipated, we will notify the customer immediately.

Changes to jobs

Any and all changes to the original estimate and agreement must be in writing.

Rush Jobs

Additional charges will be assessed for rush jobs. Depending on our workload, we cannot guarantee being able to do a rush job, but we will do our best to accommodate.

Payment

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit on approval of estimate. The balance is due when the job is scheduled for delivery/installation/pickup.  On large projects we may do progress billing and payments.

Status Reports

On larger jobs we will provide regular status reports – when materials are ordered, expected date of arrival of materials, when work begins, fitting dates if rescheduled due to weather, scheduled pickup or install date and the like.

Right to Refuse a Job

We reserve the right to refuse a job based on boat inspection prior to beginning any project. All parts of the boat that will be affected by, or are part of, the installation must be clean and in good repair, able to withstand the stresses of the installation.

Unforeseen Changes or Conditions

We do not guarantee original estimate costs if we run into unforeseen changes or conditions – improper fittings on the boat, bad condition of structure or fittings on boat that were not visible during quote, etc. All changes will be on a time and materials basis or we will negotiate a separate estimate.

If changes are needed on the boat, new fittings, new frame, etc., please make the changes before we pattern or before we finish the project, whichever is required. We will not be responsible for changes made after we pattern, or after delivery, installation, or pickup.

Customer supplied materials

We are not responsible for the performance, appearance, or warranty of any customer supplied materials. We reserve the right to refuse to work with some materials if we think they are not suitable/workable for the project at hand.

Installations

At the present time we do not do any installation that requires work on the boat such as installing fasteners, framework, etc.  If we use the words install or installation, we use it to mean delivering the product and fastening it to the boat using existing fittings.

The customer is responsible for any work necessary on the boat, such as installing appropriate fasteners, ensuring that all fasteners and framework are in good condition, and so on. Upon request, we can provide the names of reputable companies or individuals who do this work.

Warranties

We will guarantee the fit of our work. We guarantee the stitching insofar as it is our work that proves faulty. We do not guarantee any stitching damage that results from accidents, weather, chemicals, mishandling, improper cleaning, or the like.

We use high quality materials, many of which come with their own warranties. Upon request, we will provide the customer a copy of any warranties that are applicable. We do not guarantee those materials – please be aware that they are warranties from the materials suppliers.
